The Origin of April Fools 🤡

Morning Fools!

SCIENTISTS JUST DETECTED A 7 ½ MILE WIDE ASTEROID HEADING STRAIGHT FOR EARTH!!!

Nope, cause it’s actually APRIL FOOLS!
Ok, that was pretty cheesy…
But where did April fool’s day actually come from??
Well, the year was 1582.
And the pope was like…

So most people in Europe were like “ok, whatever”...

And started celebrating new years on January 1st instead.
But a LOTTA people kinda forgot and kept celebrating new years on April 1st.

Which led to them being labeled as APRIL FOOLS!

Or how they say it in France, APRIL FISH!

(Likening you to a gullible fish who is easily caught)
Eventually, it became customary to prank these people by sticking a paper fish to their back.

As a kind of like the medieval equivalent of a kick me sign.

Eventually, over the centuries, this day of pranking evolved into what we know it as today…
April fool’s day!
