Why Milk Is a Lie 🥛
Morning Milk Drinkers!
Remember when you were a kid and your average day looked something like this:
Get up, have a glass of milk.
Go to school, do schoolwork
Eat your lunch… with a glass of milk
And then you come home, to another glass of milk!
And people would always tell you:
But what if I told you this was one big LIE…
Lemme tell ya.
So it's midway through WW1.
Soldiers out in Europe were becoming extremely malnourished..
But luckily over in the US, the milk industry had produced some recent science showing how milk was like… SUPER healthy!?!
So the US government began shipping gallons and gallons of the stuff over to Europe to help keep the troops going.
So farmers in the US were like:
…Aaand then the war ended.
The farmers now had WAYYYY too much dairy.
But don't worry!
The US government stepped in to help. Instead of making those dairy farmers produce LESS dairy, they decided to get regular people to consume MORE dairy!
Over the next 80 years, Big milk produced ad campaign after ad campaign, supported by the US government.
Promoting milk as some sort of magical white drink that can cure ALL things.
And it was all backed up by science!
I mean look:
This is why we all grew up drinking SOOOO much milk.
It was all a massive ad campaign built on LIES!
But wait wait wait…
It was all backed up by science, right? It must be true?
Not so fast.
It turns out the dairy “science” was shaky at best… and downright deceptive at worst.
Firstly, they never included any of the potential risks of dairy consumption…
Including:
…To name a few.
And the whole “milk is good for your bones” thing was also… kinda wrong.
For children it might be ok, if you ignore the downsides.
But in adults, it may actually harm their bones.
For example, countries which drink the most milk actually have the HIGHEST rate of hip fractures.
But this is just one example.
But maybe drink some water to be on the safe side…
